Lake Lascelles

Lake Lascelles is a mecca for walkers, swimmers, boating enthusiasts and fishermen.

Campers can take advantage of the free camping with scenic and peaceful views rare to find only 500 metres from town. The powered camping sites are located next to the award-winning Mallee Bush Retreat and are first in best dressed for a spot.

Guaranteed water makes for a popular water skiing location in the warmer months served by an easy access boat ramp. Fishermen will enjoy the many varieties of fish plucked from Lake Lascelles or Willow Lake–a dedicated fishing lake next door. The safe swimming areas also make for a complete family experience.

Barbeque areas, maintained grassed areas and artwork created by local artists and school children are situated in four areas around the lake.

Several trails around Lake Corrong nearby will keep those on foot, horse, bike or motorbike entertained. The walks are a great way to take in the scenery and wildlife that Hopetoun offers, including a birdhide.

All tracks are dry weather roads only and are accessible for walking, bikes, horses, motorbikes, 2WD and 4WD vehicles.
