4 Art Galleries to Visit on The Silo Art Trail
As the home of Australia’s largest outdoor gallery, it is no surprise that the Wimmera Mallee region also houses a treasure trove of art galleries featuring local and national talent.
SkyMirror Gallery, Sea Lake
Based in Sea Lake, Skymirror Gallery hosts a stunning range of images from award winning photographers that capture the beautiful and picturesque landscapes of the region. With an in-house café, you can take a wander through the large exhibition area with a coffee and snack in hand. And, when you see a piece that you love, you can order a print to take home and enjoy forever. Skymirror also boasts local creations and produce, including Lake Tyrrell salt, handmade gifts, and incredible books about the region.

Red Tail Gallery, Edenhope
The Red Tail Gallery is based in the heart of Edenhope and showcases local talents across a broad and diverse range of mediums, from textiles, paint, photography and more. The Red Tail Gallery frequently hosts new exhibitions, as well as workshops for all to participate in. Run by volunteers, the gallery is a true collective of community spirit with a love for art. Take an iconic picture with rainbow wings at the mural right next door.

Turbo Gallery, Rainbow
Situated in the quirky and creative town of Rainbow, Turbo Gallery plays host to local and visiting artists in its contemporary space. Dive into this unique experience as you take in the incredible talent of the region. The gallery prides itself on offering an experience unlike what you’d expect from a small country town. With exhibitions changing every month, you are always bound to see something new and thought provoking.
The gallery sets the scene with professional lighting and hanging, as well as the sale of art supplies, giftware and also offers a framing service, useful if you happen upon a special work to take home.

Horsham Regional Art Gallery
The Horsham Regional Art Gallery situated within Horsham Town Hall is the cultural hub of the Wimmera. Hosting thoughtfully curated and touring exhibitions, it is no wonder over 70,000 visitors pass through the doors every year. With a regular rotation of shows, take a look what’s on to plan your visit. There is also a significant permanent showcase of Australian photography dating back to the 1970s and the Mack Jost Collection of Australian painting and works on paper.
After more? the Horsham Town Hall, is the region’s major performing arts centre, featuring a diverse range of live shows on a regular basis. From local acts, musicals, theatre, music and comedy gigs, the transformed heritage venue is well worth a visit. Check out the schedule here
