Warracknabeal Historical Centre

The Warracknabeal Historical Centre is located in the old State Savings Bank building in the centre of Warracknabeal. Built in 1907, the State Bank operated out of this building for approximately 70 years. After this time the building passed into the ownership of the local Shire who made it available to the Warracknabeal and District Historical Society to be used as a venue for displaying items of significant interest and as a centre for recording, compiling and storing the history of the local district.

The former state savings bank has retained its original character and each of the rooms within is filled with extensive displays that express life experienced in years gone by.

A visit to the Warracknabeal Historical Centre is a journey into the past of this unique region.

Visitors can also take advantage of the extensive research facilities and leave with increased knowledge of the way of living for their forbears.
