Kaniva Wetlands and Fauna Park
The Kaniva Wetlands and Fauna Park is a family-friendly attraction offering nature and recreation within easy walking distance of the town centre.
The recently upgraded park features an aviary, fauna park, flying fox, nature play space, outdoor exercise equipment, picnic areas and a fully fenced dog park. Visitors can see a variety of birds and animals, including Red-tailed Black Cockatoos and a rare White Western Grey Kangaroo.
Discover the town’s original electricity engine, which supplied power to Kaniva from 1925 to 1964, and explore the wetlands using the interpretive panels, which share information about the local environment and wildlife. Seasonal fruit trees near the play area provide free fruit for visitors when in season.
The park offers easy parking suitable for caravans and RVs, free barbecues, public toilets, accessible walking paths, accessible toilet facilities and an inclusive family swing.
Follow the Sheep Art Trail from the park to Kaniva’s main street (400 metres) or continue to the Kaniva Silo Art (900 metres).
